Interior Designer – Entry Level

Your Role:

KRAUSE is seeking an entry-level Interior Designer with 0-3 years of experience. Responsibilities: 

  • Function as a designer on designated tenant development projects generally of various complexity and level of detail and design in interiors.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and/or Senior Designer to understand/establish project goals and objectives including but not limited to work plan, schedule, and budget parameters.

  • Participate in existing conditions surveys and architectural base and/or interior record plans preparation.

  • Meet and interface with clients, consultants, and vendors.

  • Develop space plans that are responsive to and conform to the program requirements and client’s goals and objectives.

  • Design and assemble presentations using InDesign, Illustrator, and PowerPoint, including furniture and finishes, concept statement, and design abstract within the KRAUSE presentation standards.

  • Design and assemble presentation boards, including furniture and finishes, concept statement, and design abstract within the presentation standards.

  • Develop plans, elevations, and architectural details that illustrate the design intent and use of materials.

  • Work with external engineers, consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, fabricators, etc. to meet overall project goals and objectives.

  • During the construction phase assist in the preparation of document revisions such as addenda, bulletins, and clarification sketches.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.

  • 3-5 years’ experience of professional and commercial interior design experience, including corporate/tenant office interiors.

  • Fluency and confidence using Revit and working knowledge of AutoCAD required.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated general knowledge and ability in construction documentation, history, design, codes, and technology.

  • Demonstrated rendering capabilities a plus.

  • A style, demeanor, work ethic, and personality appropriate for internal team and client interaction is essential to your success in our organization.
